Sandpiper’s Equipment…Spring Cleaning

Because the storage on Sandpiper is quite ample, the tendency to just put something in a locker or closet is too easy.  Now that we have owned the vessel for 17 years, some purging is needed.   The following photos show some of the “gear” we have accumulated over the years to make our journeys more comfortable and/or safe:

 

Just as I was trying to complete this list, I realized we had not opened the large, cavernous locker at the stern of the boat: Fortress FX16 and FX20 anchors, Garhauer dinghy motor lift, spare fenders, emergency tiller, fender storage bags for deck, mast climbing gear, and bosun’s chair.   Then the dinghy plus 15-hp Yamaha, SSB and watermaker!  Whew!  Wait, beach chairs!!!!!  This is why we cruise:
